Notes on music arranged and performed by Stephen and the Trinity P2500 Band.

Louis Armstrong

Louis Armstrong, a trumpet player, became one of the most famous jazz musicians of the 20th century. He also sang jazz and pop tunes with a unique gravely voice.

In 1968, Armstrong  recorded "What a Wonderful World", which topped the British charts for a month. The song was used in the 1987 movie Good Morning Vietnam and was re- released topping many charts around the world. This the first Armstrong song I chose to arrange with a flugelhorn solo.

What a Wonderful World

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"

I hear babies cryin', I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world

Oh yeah

Music arranged and performed by Stephen Gislason and the Trinity P2500 Band.
